So, it had been another day of torture.. well, not really. However, another long day it seemed. Zachary, a blond haired scientist, had been walking down the streets of Espas. It was in the middle of the night, the dark skies filled with stars and/also a few clouds. Zachary had been smoking a cigarette. At the time, he wore his black shades, and his normal clothes, which had been of course nothing more than a black jacket and some matching black pants. In his pockets were a few tools he might need for this small mission.. it wasn't like he was traveling around Espas in the middle of the night for no reason. The man paused in his footsteps, just nearby an ally. He thought he had heard something, a growl, maybe? Although Zachary wasn't quite sure of what he had heard, he knew he heard something, and was showing no emotion of fear. Zachary lifted his left hand slowly toward his glasses, his thumb and index finger gripping onto the handle of the glasses, taking them off smoothly. It wasn't like he was trying to show off to anyone, he had been moving slightly slow, simply because he was very unsure of what had been growling at him. Zach figured that it might just be a dog, but at times like these, he couldn't just assume.. it wouldn't be right to, anything could have been growling at him.
Zachary's dark hazel eyes were revealed, as he shifted them slowly toward the ally, to see what had been growling at him. As he looked toward the direction of the ally, he noticed that the small growling sound had been coming from a homeless dog. The dog had been scared, and was only trying to defend the last bit of steak it had. By this point, it was only obvious that the dog was growling at Zachary because it thought that he was going to take away his food. Zachary's eyes peered at the small skinny animal, watching it growl, he shook his head only once before turning away from the dog, and continue his walk. That dog was pretty defensive over it's food, I hope it hasn't attacked children because of that. Zachary thought to himself. His mind had been everywhere, he couldn't focus on just one thing, simply because earlier, his little brother had called him; asking if Zach could pass by the store to gather a few groceries. But it wasn't his brother's fault, Zach barely told him all the secrets dealing with the lab. And he never told him when he was going to leave to search for more materials, so that he could make/or discover an antidote to heal this disgusting illness. Just even thinking about how this illness destroyed many places, and caused many people to suffer and die; makes him angry.
Zachary paused by an old park, it brought back a few memories. Although he had only visit this place a few times in his life. It was nothing but a small public park, with no sings but benches, and beautiful flowers.. however, most of the flowers had been dying.. which... wasn't SO pretty. But at least there had been a few flowers there. Zachary starred at the park, while his hair blew in the wind. The breeze was quite soft, and wasn't as strong, it was perfect for a night walk. He started to get a little mad, simply because he hasn't found any sort of material that would help his case. If only something had appeared, a sign maybe? Something that would be able to help him accomplish just a small goal that had been on his list.[/blockquote][/size] NOTES: noneTAGS: OPENMUSE: eh.. okay.

AGHI VERR[] x [] x [] [17 going on 42] [male] [Neogena] [Stage IV] _______________________________________________________ [/color] Aghi had decided to heed his mother's warnings and travel at night. She had told him it wouldn't completely mask his presence, but it might hide his identity. Plus, if all else failed, it would be easier to escape when the humans couldn't see as well as he could, with his unlimited amount of eyes at his disposal. Naturally he was careful to avoid crowds. His mother wasn't crazy - she hid him for a reason and he would just have to stay low until he found out what that reason was. Besides, it was pretty easy to stay away from people in the back alleys of Espas, though he did notice that he was attracting certain animals that he'd rather not have the company of. He'd heard of plagues and fleas, and prefered that they stayed on the rats.
However, one animal in particular was paying him an angry glare that he felt natural to challenge. He crouched low, arms spreading either side of his body as he grew a large set of eyes - about ten - on each wall of the small alley. They all pireced their gazes at the mutt and soaked in it's malnutritioned form. It stood it's ground, spreading it's stance in defence of it's teritory. Aghi raised his head in a primal sign of dominance, and was curious to see the dog react with a growl. So it hadn't lost it's bite then? He grinned, before throwing it a piece of meat he had been saving. It took him only a moment to notice something was off. The atmosphere had 'stiffened', as his mother would describe it. It was something all humans could notice - an almost sixth sense of iminant danger that most of them ignored till it was too late. He had been taught to hone it, and to never ignore it. So, as soon as he looked around he jumped, almost inhumanly grabbing onto the side of the alley wall and clinging onto it for dear life. He knew he wouldn't last long in this position, but maybe whatever it was would pass quickly and leave him be. He noticed his eyes were still on the walls so just closed them, and prayed that the darkness covered them. He listened in the darkness as footsteps led closer to where the dog had been. There was silence, then the footsteps started to fade back to where they had come from. He dared himself to open a couple of the eyes before the person fully left the alley. He got a flash of blonde hair and glasses out of the corner of his sight and sighed silently with relief he hadn't been any earlier. He really needed to work on his timing and sight positioning unless he wanted to be caught next time... Aghi dropped quietly from the wall, removing the eyes completely and returning a single open eye to the mask on his head. After one glance at the dog to see if it was okay, he decided to follow the stranger. After all, he didn't know this area and could do with a free tour. He was unwittingly led to a park, one that almost reminded him of home, but as he looked around more, he noticed with sadness that it was nothing like home - the flowers were dead, and there were... weird long chairs placed about. Why would people do this to what could have been such a beautiful place? The old 'teenager' noticed his tailee had stopped in this place, seemingly lost in thought. In his current position behind an old tree, he saw he had now where else to go. He'd walked right into a dead end without knowing where to go from here. So maybe it really had been a bad idea to follow a local. Who knew where he could've ended up. Maybe at least he could sleep in a tree for tonight or something...
Before he knew what he was doing, he was stepping closer towards the stranger. A hand reached out curiously to touch the human, before withdrawing when pain returned to him to his senses. Just a tingle at first. But it grew, stabbing at his chest till he could hold it in no longer. A coughing fit ensued, just a few feet behind his 'stalkee'. He managed to shakily bring out a hankercheif from his pocket and covered his mouth with it.
Oh god the pain...
His chest was being ripped out of his throat, he was sure of it. And it wanted to drag his throat with it. He felt the hankercheif dampen with blood and winced between wheezes and coughing fits. When will this hell finish him? He couldn't believe it had been forty years since his first cough, and wished it would just end now...

Zachary continued to stand there, starring at the many dead flowers that had surrounded to park. It wasn't the most beautiful of sights, but, it showed at least some form of life. He stood in silence, just watching the dead flowers pedals fly off, and get carried into the wind. A small sigh escaping his mouth. He has never seen something so... ugly. Zachary had only wished, and hoped that everything could be "normal", that things could be like how they used to be.. or at least, the stories he had heard of how things were, before the weird virus. Zachary was thinking quite hard at the time, so hard, that he hadn't even noticed that someone had been right behind him. He didn't notice, until, he heard a cough. As soon as Zachary heard the cough, his turned around to look back, just to see who had been hacking so terribly. This person, was hacking pretty bad.. he seemed.. sick? Though, Zachary wasn't the type to actually second guess himself, he had a feeling that this person might just have what he had been looking for. The only virus that had been going about, and spreading pretty quickly, at the time, had been; The Neogenus Enigma Virus. Could this be what he had been looking for? It isn't a cure, however, this person could be of some use, somehow.
Zachary was just a little startled. It was sort-of ironic how he was just about to give up searching, and call it a night, and then he happens to bump into someone that might just has the virus. His hazel colored eyes peered at the boy, he was sort-of happy that the distance was quite well, though.. still... this boy looked as if he were in pain. Zachary had remembered his studies, remembering how painful the whole virus can be. He knew it wouldn't be smart to respond, while the boy had been coughing, simply because, the boy wouldn't really be able to reply back as quickly as he would expect, he was coughing. He was going to stand and watch, but then something strange had happened.. the handkerchief that the boy had used to cover his mouth with, began to get blood on it. Zachary blinked twice once he seen this, before thinking; Damn.. this can't be good[/b]. He couldn't just stand and watch! But then again, he couldn't do much either. Zachary reached into his pockets, taking out a small mask, which he had carried with him, for times just like these. The mask was small and white, and it only covered his mouth and nose. He slip the mask over his head, and placing the mouth piece directly where it is supposed to be placed. He didn't want to walk any closer toward the being, without the proper equipment, for he did not know what he could be dealing with. He wasn't sure of what stage the person had been on. He took only a few steps away from where he had been standing, just to get a little closer to the man. "Hey, you okay over there?" He asked simply, wanting to let the man know that he had been stepping just slightly closer from where he had been standing. Oh man, this was suicide. Though, Zachary is a very bold guy. He wouldn't let little things stop him from retrieving his goal. He wants to finish his goal, and get things done with, so that he would be able to create that damn cure. Although Zachary had been stepping forward, slowly, one foot at a time, he was still very much cautious. He still wasn't sure what exactly he had been dealing with. So, Zachary had his left had sliding into his left pants pocket. Which lied a small silver gun, that looked almost like a miniature Hand-gun, however, it's bullet hole was flattened. This small weapon, he kept with him, just in-case if he had gotten attacked, for self defense purposes.[/size] NOTES: I don't mind. xD Sorry for late post. One more word and I got me a "666". AGHI VERR[] x [] x [] [17 going on 42] [male] [Neogena] [Stage IV] _______________________________________________________ [/color] He hadn't meant to disturb the man, honestly! He really wanted to say something to ease the stranger's concern, but as of now he simply nodded his head as he knew his voice wouldn't work while coughing. He'd actually tried that once and ended up coughing even harder. He hadn't felt so helpless since long ago when he was young and even more naive, in the face of the government. He almost winced at the strong memory, but he hoped it looked like he was wincing from the effects of the coughing. At least he knew this wouldn't last forever and as he calmed his racing mind down, his chest also calmed slightly, enough so he could talk between his lungs contracting. "I'm... Okay, thank you." He said a little breathlessly. He looked up to the man, eyes closed naturally as he smiled to reassure him. After a brief moment and a few deep breaths, the coughing finally stopped. The only evidence that there had ever been anything wrong was the stained hankerchief in his hands, which he promptly wrapped up in another before placing it back in his trouser pocket. It was after this task was done that he finally 'looked' upon the man from the unmoving eye on his mask. Rubbing his throat, he took in the sight of the citizen and almost felt at ease. He didn't know what he had been looking for, but he supposed he didn't look like what he thought would be someone from the governement, or a lab coat man. However, he did notice a strange tension in the air around him. He too cautiously straightened up from his haunched position. After all, he had been taught to run in danger, not to fight. So if there was something wrong, then he needed to be prepared to flee. But it was also in his nature to trust, so the thought of running didn't come as naturally as it should have to someone in his position. With his eyes still closed, he looked the man up and down before smiling shyly and holding his hand out. He was not one for being rude, and had learnt from a villager near his hometown this was what people did to greet one another. Well, he guessed better late than never, right?

Zachary seen the boy nod. Of course the boy wasn't able to speak right away, simply because he had been coughing. Who would be able to speak while coughing? Who ever had the ability to do so, would have some very strong lungs. Zachary waited, he was trying to see how long it would take for the stranger to stop coughing. His eyes consistently kept shifting at the handkerchief in the boys hands. It had blood on it from when the boy was coughing. With anything, Coughing out blood wasn't very much a healthy sign. Though, he didn't panic. He watched the stranger until his coughing had come to an end, until the boy was finally able to say something. The stranger had given Zachary a proper answer, with a 'thank you' ending his words.
Zachary didn't want to intimidate the boy, so he stopped walking toward him, and slowly removed his mask. This was very awkward for him. He wanted to ask the man if he was sick, but if he WERE sick with what he think he would have, then.. that wouldn't be a very smart thing to ask a stranger such as himself. He paused for a moment, when he noticed that the boys eyes were not opening. Maybe, something happened to them? Or he's very much blind. There are some who go blind and their eyes shut. But their are many who go blind and their eyes won't close. There could have been many possible reasons for such things. Zachary shook the thought of all the many intellectual scientific explanatory thoughts about the boys eyes, and reverted back to the handkerchief. He was curious, really curious, of finding out if this stranger had the Neogena, or.. he just had a very bad cough. As a smoker, Zachary has experienced bad coughs. Though, he was really anxious to know, and wanted to find out without asking the stranger if he were sick.
Maybe he could somehow get the handkerchief from the stranger? But in that case, how the heck is he going to do that?! He couldn't just run pass the man and snatch his handkerchief. He also couldn't ask the man to give it to him, that would just be completely strange. Zachary gave out a small smile to the stranger. "Ah good." he said to the boy. Finally replying to what the boy had said. It would be rude to not say anything, after he had asked if the boy was alright. He blinked a few times once the boy put out a hand toward him. A shake? Well... Zachary just looked at his hand before looking back at the stranger and smiling, He did not want to touch his hand. Although the boy had used a handkerchief to cover his mouth, Zachary most definitely knew how germs spread. Not saying that he is a germaphobic. But everyone can get a little germaphobic every once and awhile.
Though, the hand made Zachary take it as an opportunity to get a little closer to the stranger. Which, he did. However, in order to be close, he must have to shake the mans hand. It was a good thing Zachary had some gloves within his pockets. One of his hands had been in his pocket anyways, so with that hand, he slipped on a white glove, while his hand was still in his pocket. Zachary took his hand out of his pocket, and shook the strangers hand gently. "Zachary Elmoree. It's nice to meet'cha." he said simply.

[bg=5c5078][atrb=width,488,true][atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellspacing,0,true][atrb=cellpadding,0,true] Aghi Verr
Let me be who I wanna be
Aghi noticed the man's caution and internal struggle, and wondered what could be wrong. His mother had cautioned him against these kinds of people. He had met many, and a few had acted this way towards him. They usually ended up wanted to take him somewhere or try and take something off him, but because of his training the alarm bells had rung off early enough for him to escape. His reflexes and acrobatics had often been put to the test in these situations, and had made sure his body was always ready to be put to use.
He noticed that his 'eyes' were gaining some attention, and purposely tried not to open his eyes to the man. His mother had often told him stories of how beautiful they were, but like the fruit of eden, forbidden from mortals to touch - though in this case, to see. He never did quite understand why, but never questioned her wisdom. Besides. He couldn't see out of them, so what was the point in opening his eyelids?
His earlier suspicions about the man slowly began to lift, as he saw through his mask that he actually smiled when told he was fine. It was such a simple thing, but meant a lot coming from a 'blind' guy. He was sure it would seem like he was blind in some way, yet this stranger had offered a smile to unseeing eyes and it gave Aghi a better opinion of the man. Not that he thought he was a bad guy; he'd just learnt to stay cautious unless you know them.
He thought nothing of the slight hesitation to shake his hand. Nor did he think much of the glove - it must be cold to those who live in a house constantly. He returned the shake nice and loosely, not wanting to discourage Zachary. He released when it was time and smiled softly. "Aghi Verr, and likewise." He may not have been brought up in a town with other people, but he was still taught how to interact politely and even learnt a few new things as he passed form town to town. And it was this sort of situation that he thrived on to learn new things - each individual had unique traits in conversation that he always found interesting to discover. Such as Zachary's 'meet'cha'. He had only heard one other person say it like that, and it made him smile a little wider at the thought.
A wind blew, making him shiver from toes to fingers till it abruptly stopped again. He may camp outdoors quite often enough, but that still didn't excuse his poor bare skin from the elements. His short, one half-sleeved open top billowed slightly, allowing the moon that had previously been hiding behind the night clouds cast a cold light over their bodies. His chest shimmered faintly in places where the glow hit his 'scales', glistening hues of blues and purples. Had he been able to see what was going on, he would have had the decency to cover himself up, but because of his higher line of sight from the top of his head, he didn't have a view of his chest and the dancing colours of light. He was at least lucky enough to have his jacket ruffle in the slight wind, allowing it to gently flap in the way of his scales often enough for it to seem like a trick of the eye.
Let me be who I am, let me be naive
