DESTROYA DESTROYA DESTROYA DESTROYA AGAINST THE SUN - WE'RE THE ENEMY ! SEVENTEEN YEARS OLD | NEOGENA | STAGE IVTEXT . IRAKU . YUUKI . Iraku walked over the earth, the frost on the ground crunching underneath his sturdy boots. He glanced to the east, looking at the different colors that told anyone looking, and anyone who was actually up at that time, that the sun was coming. He carried a bag slung over his shoulder, the contents making it bulge slightly. “Well, I thought there’d be a town here,” He said, stopping to look around him, and to his twin sister. “Guess that different places have different ideas on where to put the towns...”
He turned to face the horizon where the navy blue of night, started to change to the vibrant oranges, pinks, and yellows of early morning. “Ok. East.” He pointed in a direction, but as his sister slowly caught up to him breathing a little hard, he lowered his hand and quickly went to support her. "You really shouldn't strain yourself. I only ran up this hill to see if we were going the right way..."
But, as per usual, no matter what he told her, she simply smiled to him. "But I want to be with you, Brother." She looked to him and her smiled lessened "And... And they could be near here..." She looked away as they reached the top of the hill once more. Iraku let her stand on her own as he looked out to the sunrise. "I won't let any of them hurt you, ever again."
With that said, he turned towards the correct direction and picked up his bag, slinging it over his shoulder once more. He started to walk again, making sure to keep at a slow pace for Yuuki, whilst humming a tune that sounded faintly familiar to anyone who was listening.
"We should find some food soon..." He said, looking up to the rising sun with a raised hand. There was some sun glare off the lightly snow covered trail, and he happily crunched his feet on the untouched snow beside his sister. To anyone on the outside, it would seem like a pair of siblings out on a stroll. Though, given the nature of the area many would be weary of what their true forms could be.
The snow was a gift to the twins, if anything. They loved how the snow felt under their boots and the way it encased everything into a colourless hoard of white. It was also good for snowball fights and hiding themselves in. They could wear the baggy clothes they needed without seeming suspicious, and if needed, they could dive into the nearest pile of snow for hiding, or even distract someone with a snowball to aid their escape. As a child Iraku loved hurling them at his sister; and vise-verse.
Iraku's thoughts distracted him and he nearly walked into a tree. He cursed quietly whilst Yuuki chuckled quietly to herself, before they both lay against it for a while. It wouldn’t hurt just to take a little nap here… No. They had to keep moving. Now Iraku knew what it felt like to be one of those migratory birds. They never had a chance to rest, a chance to lie down, a chance to stop; they just had to keep moving, regardless, pushed by their instincts. But Iraku wasn’t a bird and he could stop.
Then Yuuki heard it: the crunching of snow behind her. She struggled to turn her head quickly in time but being a honed Neogena on the run, her reflexes were highly wired. Iraku noticed her sudden alertness and looked out to her line of sight “Yes?” Iraku shouted in a clear cut voice throughout the forest. They knew someone was there, it was just a case of determining who they were and what threat they posed. Iraku quickly recapped on all the ways to incapacitate someone, just in case. “We know you’re there!” they both stood side to side, straight and slim behind the oak tree, awaiting for anymore sounds that could reach them. Buffy shivered as the crisp air bit coldly at her neck and resolved to put up the hood of her cloak. There was no way she was flying in this weather; it was cold enough just trudging through the snow. Normally, she would be walking toward the rebel/refugee base, not away from it. Currently, however, there was much arguing going on--allowing the two agents to escape that one time in summer had really done a number on her image. Personally she didn't give a damn about her 'image,' but when neogenas are every now and then cursing at you, it got to you. A tired sigh ripped out of her mouth, forming a plume of steam in the winter air. She gripped her cloak and held it closer to her body, 'I really need to get winter clothes..' she thought to herself, another sigh forming steam from her nose. The only one who could--and would--shop for her was her. The fact that her notoriety was only growing did not help her situation much. Growling at a thought, she swiftly scooped up a lump of snow, packed it, and beamed it at a rough looking tree. It barely hit, the snowball disintegrating on contact with the tree. She glared at the tree for a second or two, bringing it into focus, and then releasing her grip on the dormant being. 'Why must we live like savages...' but she already knew the answer to that--the government kept them well in check with how much technology they were able to legally acquire. Since the current focus was the rebellion, there wasn't much time to figure out man-made fabrics. She gripped her hands into fists, then relaxed again, not wanting to accidentally slice through her palms.
She walked up to the tree which she had hit with the snowball, daintily placing her hand on the chilled bark. She gingerly slid her hand down the bark and back into her warm cloak, beholding the barren tree with her psychic sight. She smiled slightly before she continued on her way.
Walking around in the dead of winter was not very common in Florova. Walking around in the dead of winter near the border was especially strange. So of course she was caught off guard when she hear a shrill male voice yell to acknowledge her presence. She froze, her poise wired to do anything from attacking to flying off. She expanded her vision, there were two neogena--one boy one girl. They were very, very far away though, which surprised Buffy that they had heard her walking. She scanned the radius of the area briefly. If there were other people they weren't currently paying attention to her or these two. And these two were definitely trying to pay attention to her. The male yelled again, declaring that they knew she was in the vicinity. She focused her sight on just them and their immediate surroundings. "Hmph" she smirked, amused that they were trying to hide behind a tree. "Look at the man in charge!" she called, her voice steady and deep. "I suppose there's no need for either of us to get all riled up. Judging from the panic emanating from you--and yes, I can feel it--you're not an agent. Who are the two of you?" She asked, not expecting either of them to say who they were. 'Harsh times indeed.' She thought soberly, walking somewhat quickly towards the twins. DESTROYA DESTROYA DESTROYA DESTROYA AGAINST THE SUN - WE'RE THE ENEMY ! SEVENTEEN YEARS OLD | NEOGENA | STAGE IVTEXT . IRAKU . YUUKI . Iraku was taken back at the stranger's reply. She seemed so in charge of everything that he almost feared it were an agent. But something told him she wasn't. The fact that she had announced that they were not agents made him think that she had been on alert for them herself, and so the fact that she could be a neogena crossed his mind, but one shake of Yuuki's head confirmed it; the female stranger wasn't an agent. He was almost glad for Yuuki's talent and thoroughness; she'd placed 'tattoos' insides the natural grooves in the bark of every other tree that they'd passed, allowing her to see anything that followed after them when she closed her eyes. Well, this stranger didn't nessesarily mean to follow them, but it was better to be safe than sorry.
However, upon her questioning Iraku steeled himself. He wasn't about to give away personal details just yet, especially when he hadn't even seen her. He did trust Yuuki, but her naive judgement of character had yet to see a bad person, even though they had come across many. He heard the footsteps quicken towards them, and although there was no menacing undertone in her voice, he prepared two dagger shaped orbs[#3] behind his back for a safety net, just incase. He thought about creating clones of random people he'd seen in towns, to make it look like there were many more of them, but if she had noticed that tiniest of a quiver in his voice earlier, then surely she would noticed they were fakes. The daggers would have to do for now so he stood defiantly infront of Yuuki, effectively sheilding her with his body.
"Isn't it impolite to ask for someone's name, without giving your own first?" he replied with a grin, regardless of whether she could see or not. It was what they had been taught by their old lady, and he still used it to their advantage to this day. This time he felt much more at ease and prepared, now that he had a rough idea of what she was, and was certain his voice had sounded strong and defiant in the face of danger.
